It is COLD! Just
walking to the marina office to mail some letters I nearly froze. And there are whitecaps in the river. I'm ready to head back south.
Luke wanted to go to a good seafood restaurant, so we
headed for St. Augustine Beach and Salt Life Restaurant. We were not impressed. Pricey and mediocre food. BUT - drum roll,
please - Hudson tried calamari and liked
it!!!
We cruised toward the cut so the kids could see the
Atlantic Ocean, then up the Intracoastal Waterway to the marina and repair
facility where we will be later this week.
The waves and narrow spaces in the marina bothered Jeannie, but she was
a good sport.
This is St Augustine Marina, our home for the next few
days. And it is on the town side of the
bridge so our bike rides will be shorter and less hilly.
The kids enjoyed watching the draw bridge open while we
gassed up.
Hudson loved being commander on the front of the boat.
It was cold, but we decided we could brave the putt putt
course at the end of our dock. I'm not
sure who won, but we had a great time.
And we had several hole-in-ones!
We had not seen the place where Jeannie, Luke, and the
kids are staying, so we all piled into the car, picked up shrimp at Publix and
went to their unit for dinner. It was
nice but not very spacious. But it did
have a heated pool, which was the most important thing!
