Thursday, March 9
Just as we were leaving for breakfast, the insurance
adjuster called and wanted to know if he could come by this morning. Breakfast will have to wait. He made us feel better, the scrapes can all
be repaired, only the rail will need to be replaced.
So now we head out for lunch. These wonderful old houses were right across
from the marina entrance. I would love
to be able to see Daytona as it was when they were built.
We stopped for lunch at a local fish restaurant. You stand in line to place your order, then
take a seat wherever you can find it.
The food was good, but the most notable thing was the
bathroom. I don't normally take bathroom
pictures, but these colors deserved some publicity!
Next was Daytona Beach, and another cruise through the
Bike Week craziness. Danny really wanted
to cross the high bridge. I ended up
walking my bike most of the way up, then riding the brakes all the way
down. The only good thing I can say is
that the view from the top of the bridge was really pretty. And the mosaics on the posts gave me
something to look forward to.
Daytona Beach!
It's hard to believe they still allow cars on the beach. We walked along the beach, both car and
non-car. Loved this sand sculpture.
It's hard to see, but we used the bike locks to hold our
boat shoes.
Back at the boat, we took some pretty good night
pictures, then went to bed.
