Tuesday, February 28 - Mom's Birthday and Pompano Beach
Tourist Day
My mom is 91 today.
Happy, happy birthday to her.
In her tourist info search, Pris had found Panther Ridge
Conservation Center for exotic felines, so we headed up to Wellington, FL to
tour. On the way, we just happened to
find a Five Guys for lunch, which made us all very happy!
As we got to Wellington, every city sign had a horse on
it. We didn't understand until we passed
all the polo fields! The stables
were more elaborate than the houses!
You have to schedule a private tour to get into Panther
Ridge. They are very protective of their
animals. Robert got chastised for
touching a fence, me for walking around to the side of a cage. The tour was wonderful, and the animals were
beautiful. Be sure to check out the
picture of the paw!
On the way back to the boat, we saw a Goodyear blimp and
chased it to it's base. It was
practicing landings and we watched like little kids.
It has been a wonderful visit with Robert and Pris. We hate to see them leave.
