Saturday, March 4 - Bloody Mary Breakfast
This is my kind of place!
Breakfast with Bloody Mary's for marina guests. Gotta love it! Of course the drinks weren't as good as
Charles's or Jennifer's, but they were free!
Breakfast included fruit, yogurt, sweet rolls, doughnuts,
and bagels. (Danny whined a little bit
because there was no bacon.). We fixed plates and sat outside by the pool.
A very nice-looking young man came out and asked if he
could sit with us. We chatted for a few
minutes then his dad and wife joined us.
Such interesting folks, and very nice.
The young man is a captain and delivers boats, but also has a boat
restoration company in Charleston. His
wife is from Australia and works for a disaster relief agency. They met in Haiti when he was volunteering
and she was his boss. The dad owned an
ink company in Charlotte, now retired and lives in Charleston, too. He just bought a catamaran trawler and is
interested in "doing the Loop."
He asked us to contact him when we get to Charleston, and we will! He shouldn't have invited us if he didn't
mean it!
Late in the afternoon I went to the laundry room to make
sure we hadn't left anything, and met a lady named Cher, and, surprise, we
struck up a conversation. She and her
husband have recently retired and are cruising on their sailboat. They have been to many of the same places we
have and shared many of our opinions.
AND, Dave is from Albany, GA! We
had a wonderful visit and hope to visit with them again while we are here.
Nothing else jumped in front of us, so we stayed on the
boat and listened to the wind - and watched Jaws!
