The Marina grill
served breakfast, so the six of us headed over to try it. Carolyn doesn’t
“do” breakfast, but we were glad to have Craig join us.
Gil and Danny
compared notes before we took off.
Danny and I love to
see old Chris Craft boats. We passed a 1953 model in a marina, talked to
some guys on a 1957 model at Hoppies, then saw this one at GTB. I would
love to have one, but wouldn’t love the maintenance that goes along with
it. (BOAT)
The channel exiting
Green Turtle Bay is narrow and leads into Barkley Lake.
Just a couple of
miles out we took the canal that connects Barley with Kentucky Lake. Danny
spotted an eagle nest on one of the power towers.
From this point, we
will be on the Tennessee River until we get home.
We pulled into
Nolan Hollow close to Dover, TN to anchor for the night. There were quite
a few fishing boats but we didn’t see anybody catch a fish. We got out
the dinghy to go explore and chat with another boat, and got some great
pictures of Ellis’ Island and the sunset..
What a gorgeous
sunset!
