Sunday, July 23 - Close to Parry Sound
Scenes from the
morning’s cruise. Some of the twists and turns were very tight. Gil
did a great job leading the way.
We were close to
Parry Sound, but decided to stay at Killbear Marina rather than go further
in. As we approached the marina, the rope attaching Chrysalis’ dinghy got
caught in the motor. And Deb’s hand got caught in the rope. They
limped into the marina to assess the damage while Deb iced her hand.Gil tried
to get into the cold, cold water to cut the rope, but made it only to his
waist. Alex made it all the way in, but cut his thumb trying to free the
rope. It was time to call in a professional diver.
This boat was next
to ours at the gas dock. The ladies grabbed our ropes and introduced us
to their dog and cat.
There were lots of
cars in the parking lot. When I asked where all those people were, our
new friends told us they belong to people who have cottages on islands. Since
it was the week-end, there were more cars than boats.
Some pictures of
the marina.
