Saturday July 1 - Happy Canada Day
Our new friend,
Barrie, had stopped by the boat late yesterday to see if we wanted to go to the
RibFest. We had eaten a late lunch and Danny’s hip was bothering him, so
we declined. He then invited us to breakfast today. We were all
about that! He and his wife, Mimi, were delightful. They wanted to
hear all about the Loop to help them make their departure date decision. He
cooked real Canadian bacon and poached eggs which were wonderful. What a
great way to kick off Canada Day.
I went to the
office to pay for another night and decided to document the high water. Everybody
tells us this is abnormal, as is the rain that continues.
The geese are
walking on the sidewalk.
Floating dock on
the left, fixed dock on the right. The ramp used to go down, now has an
additional platform to make it usable.
Canadian flags were
flying everywhere! One boat had four separate flags, one even had
bunting. We don’t have our courtesy flag yet, so couldn’t join them.
On the way back to the boat, I saw this group gathered on the dock. Boaters are such sociable folks!
Geese were
everywhere, they looked so cute with their butts up in the air eating the
weeds.
Canada Day
fireworks!
