Sunday, May 14 - Sightseeing in Hampton

Sunday, May 14 - Sightseeing in Hampton

It was not cold, rainy, or terribly windy, so we took a bike ride to town.  As we entered the museum and Visitor Center, I saw this to our left.  Danny asked me why I was taking a picture.  When you invest so much time and energy into a program, it always tugs at you.

The Hampton History Museum was very well done.  There have been many archaeological digs so we saw lots of broken pottery!

We passed the Virginia Air and Space Center, NASA Langley Visitor Center on our way to the harbor.  We had read about it in our cruising guide, but it was pretty pricey,  so we passed it up.  The museum is here  because Langley AFB housed the National Advisory Council for Aeronautics, the predecessor of NASA.

As we rode around Hampton Harbor, we saw the Wilson's boat (Wilsons on the Water), but nobody was around.  Wendy emailed later that they had traveled by car to Jamestown and Williamsburg.
