Saturday, April 29 - Our Anniversary!

Saturday, April 29 - Our Anniversary!

Jennifer arrives today!  Can't wait to see her.

After breakfast at a local cafe, we headed to the Farmer's Market, which was conveniently located on the waterfront.  Our haul included local muscadine wine, sweet sweet potatoes (that was their claim), two kinds of cucumbers, beautiful tomatoes, pickled jalapeño okra, and pickled peanuts.  Yes, you read that right.

Jennifer arrived around 11:00, it was wonderful to see her.  Now we have had all the kids on the boat with us.  She brought gifts for the boat - UGA cooler/stool and UGA ice bucket that she found at a neighborhood garage sale.  That's my girl!

As with every guest, we needed to take advantage of Jennifer's car while she is here.  (She has a new-to-her Toyota 4Runner.). We went to lunch first, at a wonderful Mexican restaurant.  We are not accustomed to looking for and paying for parking!
As soon as we finished eating, Danny said, "We're coming back here."  It was that good.  And they had fried pork skins for an appetizer!!!!

This downtown building was an 1800's gentleman's club.

Now for the fun stuff.  I needed supplies for Margaret's smocked romper and had contacted a store that said they had a watermelon design plate.  The store was not exactly on our route, but we went anyhow.  They had the plate, but not the floss to implement the design.  That meant another stop, this time at JoAnn's.  Jennifer was anxious about the time we were losing from our tourist-ing, but she was a good sport.  Next stop, Costco to replace Danny's hearing aids.  We had started checking with different Costco stores when we were in St. Augustine and couldn't find one that could schedule a re-test and get the aids back to us in a timely manner.  This one did everything in one day - we left store with a new pair.  BUT, it took a lot of our time.  Finally, we were headed back to the boat.

Jennifer and I took a bike ride looking at all the beautiful old houses.

After cocktails, we biked to a local restaurant for oysters, and headed back to the boat to enjoy our visit.
