Sunday, April 9th - Kings Bay and
Brunswick
We kept hoping to
see a submarine coming into Kings Bay, but no such luck. I did take some
pictures of the base.
Cumberland is the
largest of the Georgia barrier islands, we cruised along its shore for a long
time. The north shore was actually more scenic than the south shore where
Dungeness is located.
Jekyll was on our
route north, but we didn't pull in. There was nothing we wanted to see
that was close enough to a dock where we could land, so we waved and moved on.
Brunswick was next,
and we decided to stop there for the night. It was easy from a long
distance thanks to the TALL bridge!
We passed lots of
shrimp boats, and even a replica schooner on the way to the marina.
It was a nice marina,
but very spread out - 10 docks, i think. We used their loaner bikes just
to get to the bath house!
