Monday, April 3 - Drive to Ponte Vedra
The weather forecast showed rain, so after
we finished laundry detail, we signed out the marina loaner car for lunch
rather than bike it. As we were leaving, the guy that has been working on
the gel coat stopped us to say that the welders had damaged a couple of places
on the boat Friday, so now we have to wait for those to be fixed! There
and a half weeks and counting.
We crossed the "big bridge" to
the beach looking for a
Tiki Hut style
restaurant. No luck, but we did find a nice restaurant on the water
called Aunt Kate's. My catfish was wonderful, Danny said the BBQ wasn't
bad. And I was intrigued by the tree growing through the deck.
As we left, we saw
this Irish castle/church. It is called an architectural landmark.
It has no running water, no electricity, and is used primarily for special
events. Very unusual.
Danny decided that
today was the day to clean the Eisenglass. I had put him off as long as I
could. It's a long process, and involves moving the "patio"
furniture and lots of rubbing with clean diapers!
The rain held out
until late afternoon, but it came with a vengeance! Lots of lightning,
tons of rain!
NCAA championship
game was our evening entertainment.
