Sunday, April 16 - Easter in Beaufort
Our Looper friends
yesterday told us there would be a community sunrise Easter service at the park
at the end of our dock. Wonderful! As we approached the park, we
noticed everyone fanning - at 7:00 a.m. We should have picked up on
that. We couldn't find our friends and the coffee ran out, but we were
still looking forward to some good music and an uplifting service.
Almost immediately
after sitting down, the no-see-um's started their attack. I went back to
get us programs so we could fan, too. A little bit later, the nice lady
sitting behind us offered bug spray. Then we noticed that as people got off
the cruise ship at the dock to come to the service, the steward sprayed them
with bug spray. We made it through most of the music and the scripture,
then Danny had to leave. The bugs were eating him up! Back at the
boat, we sprayed him with Solarcaine, then used aloe lotion to try to get him
comfortable. I'm sure they came after him because he is so sweet!
Danny wanted
shrimp, so we biked to Bi-Lo. I called to make sure they were open and
that they had shrimp, and the lady offered to steam them and have them ready
for us. When we got there, Danny jokingly complained about them still
being in the shell. That nice lady offered to peel them for him.
We also picked up some marked down tuna steaks. Danny gets to grill
tonight.
We passed a Maryland
Fried Chicken restaurant, and we LOVE chicken livers. So that's where we
ate Easter lunch. Not exactly the traditional meal, but then we are not
living a traditional lifestyle right now.
