Monday, August 28 - Weather Delay in Frankfort

Monday, August 28 - Weather Delay in Frankfort

The weather forecast is still for high wind, so here we are in Frankfort for another day.

We did some grocery shopping at Food Fair, I think that was the name.  It had a good grocery selection and good prices on beer and wine, so we filled up our little red wagon!

After lunch, we did some exploring.  The old Coast Guard Station has been converted to an arts center.  And according to the sign, Marquette’s death took place somewhere in this vicinity.  (Marquette was a missionary who had a great impact on this area.).

The beach was beautiful!  A little too cool for us to swim, but we enjoyed the view.

Downtown Frankfort is well maintained.  The only stop we made was at the hardware store!  I admired the flowers outside whiled Danny looked.

This lady was walking along the walkway in front of the boats, and we started chatting.  Turns out she is vice chair of the City Council and was checking on the harbor area while she waited on a friend.  I was delighted to tell her how much we had enjoyed the marina, and how wonderful that the library was so convenient to the docks.  (It’s right behind her in the picture.). She told me it has one of the highest use rates (not the correct term) in the state.

Even more Looper boats at the marina tonight, but the weather was yucky so we gathered for docktails under the pavilion.

Good night, Frankfort.
