People told us to
turn right at the end of the Main Street, go to the Shell Station then turn
left to get to the grocery store. They didn’t mention the steep hill to
get there!
We were pulling our
red wagon with bottles to return for the deposit. We stopped first at
the LCBO store, they don’t buy back, only The Beer Store does that, which was
down another hill, which meant uphill coming back. At least without the
weight of the bottles. We stopped in a fish market that had only frozen
fish. Danny asked about shrimp - they were $20.00 per pound!
In case I haven’t
mentioned it previously, groceries are expensive in Canada! Thank
goodness the exchange rate is in our favor. Danny checks at every grocery
store for cantaloupe - they have been over $5.00 for a long time. A box
of tea bags was $7.99. Needless to say we left both those things at the
store. Anything over a half gallon milk comes in bags not cartons. And
cheese packages look like this. Can you tell how thin it is?I don’t get
the logic. (CHEESE)
Now loaded with
groceries and bottled water, we head to the LCBO store to buy beer and wine.
And with a HEAVY wagon, we head back down the hill.
The view from our
boat was amazing. And I especially loved watching the dog on the kayak.
We missed Docktails
- it started early (5:00) and Danny was resting. Our dock neighbors Mike
and Karen on Tranquillity 111 (from Nashville) came on board afterwards with
Deb and Gil and we talked about Loop stuff.
Sunset from the
back of the boat.
