Monday, January 30 - Repairs Underway
Terry and Sonya, the repair folks from East Tennessee, arrived at 8:00 sharp. They lugged so much stuff down the dock, I got tired watching! At least we are on the first dock so they didn't have as far to go. The parts and tools were extremely heavy, and the walkway on to the boat is narrow and high. I did not envy them their job.
Danny watched the disassembly process for a little while, then we took off for breakfast. With no McDonald's or Waffle House close, we went back to Cove Inn. They use Gruyere cheese in all their dishes, and everything we tried was great.
We haven't had shrimp in a while, so we biked to the grocery while they were working on the boat. We passed this huge, weird tree, which we found out later was a banyan tree. Danny was intrigued.
Two stores and two pounds of shrimp later, we took the scenic route back to the boat, stopping at the beach again.
We are at the Naples City Dock, which is a tourist attraction. Lots of people walk by all day, fishing boats load and unload, it's a busy place. So sitting on the back of the boat provides lots of entertainment. And lots of people stop to talk. I almost missed the sunset because a very nice gentleman stopped me to chat.
