Friday, January 6 - Breakfast and Bikes

It was time for a real breakfast, thank goodness Karen and John agreed since we had to use their car.  Several people had recommended Norma Rae's so we headed to "downtown" Palmetto.  Norma Rae's is located in two old store fronts, complete with tin ceilings, and has very eclectic furnishings.  We all enjoyed our food.  John was excited to find muffins on the menu, grilled no less.

WalMart was between the restaurant and the marina, so we stopped in fr a few things.  We had been talking about bikes, but just weren't sure how much we would use them and how that'd they would be to get on and off the boat.  AND, Danny is not a bike fan.  While in WalMart, we decided to at least check out our options.  Danny picked out a red and black one which turned out to be scratched - 10% off!  I found one with a very low bar, so I can swing my leg over easily.  They both have 7 gears shifted by rolling the handlebar.  When the guy said he would give us 10% off on mine, too, we made the plunge.

We were in Karen and John's car which did not have room for bikes, so we rode back to the marina. It wasn't very far and we made it safely!
