I like marina living, I really do. But I keep thinking about all the sights out
there in front of us and I get anxious to leave. We have been here almost two weeks. Having friends here helps a lot, but I feel
our cruising time slipping by.
I love my bike!
Laundry day was much easier riding it to go up to the laundry room to
check on the clothes, add more quarters, swap clothes rather than walking the
475 steps each way!. And there was a new
washer, so I could do two loads at a time.
AND, someone had left a $35.00 Waterway Guide and several charts of the
Keys on the free bookshelf.
Danny wanted to get out, so we rode the bikes to
lunch! Gears make riding SO much more
fun. We tried to find a shortcut on the
way back and ran into these cute fellows!
The diver came back and installed the propellers!
And a mechanic came by to check out the leak in the pressure water
system. He ruled out major problems, so
now it's in Danny's hands,
We have been looking at a replacement dinghy. Earlier in the week we took ours out of the
water and sprayed it with soapy water to look for the slow leak. Boy, did we get lots of bubbles! Danny called an inflatable repair place, they said since the leak seemed
to be at a seam it probably couldn't be repaired. He checked Craig's List, Amazon, marine
supply places, but couldn't find one that will work for us. We need a short dinghy that doesn't interfere
with our access on the swim platform, and that limits our choices. West Marine had a floor model, so we
"invited" Karen and John to take us to see it. It had a slat bottom and we just couldn't
talk ourselves into it. If we order one,
it will take 2 weeks to get here, so I guess we will keep pumping ours up every
day until we get to a West Marine that has one in stock. (That was a long paragraph!)
Danny had been talking about fresh shrimp, so we stopped
at Publix on our way back to the marina and picked some up. It was the first time Karen had tried peel 'n
eat shrimp, she is now a fan!
